Darrell, I have a question for you. What paints are called Gouache? Thanks….Rhonda.
Gouache is an opaque watercolor paint. Traditional, transparent watercolors allow the “white” of the paper below the paint to show through. Gouache, on the other hand, can be applied in solid colors. This allows an artist to paint from dark layers to lighter layers. Gouache dries to a matte finish, which makes it easy to reproduce electronically.
Acrylic gouache is not really a gouache. Acrylic Gouache contain an acrylic polymer binder. So use this type of paint as though it is an acrylic paint that only resembles gouache in terms of opacity, creamy texture, the matte finish. Darrell
