Just wanted to let all of you know that Darrell’s operation went well and he is doing fine. When he gets home I’m sure he will tell you all about it.
Thanks to all of you who sent kind wishes.
Until then we ask that you please refrain from making any phone calls to Darrell until Monday.
Thank you.

It’s Saturday morning and I’m sitting here with a fresh cup of coffee listening to the birds, thinking those deep thoughts.
Finished the week long visit of Joshua last night. I took him and Sabrina to the circus not far from here. They enjoyed it. Not only watching the characters and stunts, but being a character themselves.

First thing come Monday at 5:40 will be the operation. I got the final approval yesterday at 2 p.m.
My wife and Joe will be managing everything. Atif will still be doing his normal duties of solving technical problems. Joe will send any urgent requests to him straight away. It’ll be about 3 weeks before I’m well along in recovery. I’m told most people resume their normal activities in about six weeks. Naturally, I asked when I could resume my exercises and was simply told it would happen shortly, but not before they tell me its OK. I guess the hospital stay is on average one night. The doctor said he’s prepared for 2 nights with me.
You all have a great weekend and I’ll write again when I’ve returned.

Thirty years.
For over 30 years I’ve combed the waters along Massachusetts in search of catching my first Stripped Bass fish.
Thirty years.
My daughter invited Joshua and I along to fish for Strippers last evening.
While I’m still putting together my rig. Joshua catches his first Stripper.
First cast.
First three minutes.
We spent another six hours fishing.
I didn’t break my no-hitter streak.
Now is this a happy boy or not….?

Have a great day painting………and if you’re not painting, try fishing.

Good Morning……….
It’s Wednesday and Beach Day.
We have a weeklong 10-year old grandson visit. Joshua is a man’s boy through and through. Yesterday morning grammy took him to see the Karate Kid and in the afternoon I took him fresh water fishing. Our grandaughter Sabrina joined us as well.
He caught a lot of fish, then he, by chance, picked up my rod and reel and fell in love with it …..

I have ultra light tackle (See photo) and won’t reveal how much I paid for it. Anyway, he would not give it back to me…. Caught more fish. Wanted to make a home aquarium out of blue gills. But I finally talked him out of this. It was a real race between the two of them. They went through 70 worms by 8:30 p.m.
Bugs so bad, we came home and had a hot dog fest with caesar salad.
Then downstairs for some painting……
At 11:30 they went to bed.
30 seconds later, so did I … Read the rest of this entry »

I want to thank everyone for their patience. I didn’t realize just how long it would take to post these paintings for the Father’s Day Special.
All of the paintings can be seen at http://www.darrellcrow.com
I personally think its a great thing to refer back to your instructor’s painting just to see the strokes they made. How they combined colors, and they composed a painting, ….
I have a seascape from Elle Tye, a floral from Gary Jenkins, a Chicken in a bucket from Barbara Pasco, a waterfall from Lynn Pittard, and a seascape from Jessie Martin. And I learned so much from the paintings. I must have paid an average of $250 for each of these paintings and they were worth every penny.
There were also a lot of instructors whose paintings I just simply couldn’t afford. Some were $1,500 as a special price to students. I just couldn’t even think that high as a student. I wasn’t a rich student, and I’m still not a rich student. So when so many of you asked me how you could acquire a painting of mine, I priced them very low so that everyone could have one. I have to tell you that my average price I sell paintings are at $295.00 except for the tall ships and portraits. The Tall Ships are $695 plus, and portraits are quoted.
Enjoy, find the one you want and claim it.
A couple have already sold while I’ve been writing this email….
Take care and continue to enjoy your Father’s Day.

Yes. Yesterday’s article had a photo of me from 40 years ago. In my mind’s eye, that’s how I still look.
Yes, the sale begin around noon today. I’m in the midst of editing photos, uploading, setting up the cart and all of that.
Again, Noon.

Dear Darrell…..
What group sang the song at the beginning of your DVDs. And do you have a copy of the lyrics you could send to me?
Odell
